The Pagan community on Tumblr is one of the most rude communities I swear to God. Same with the Wiccans.

New Age/Pagan religions need to realize that literally none of us practice the same way.

So stop screeching NO IT’S THIS WAY.

Reblogging cause this shit is important

it’s so bad of late, as a Wiccan, I don’t even feel safe or welcome in the Pagan or Witchcraft tag. I always worry when I use those tags for things.

Exactly, and it shouldn’t be that way. I have to avoid the Wiccan side of Tumblr all together cause most of them just screech about everything being their way, totally right their way, and make someone feel crappy for whatever they believe, and it makes me angry.

I’m sorry anyone has to feel unsafe from people of their own religion. Wiccans should be focusing on making each other feel welcome and stuff since Wiccans and Pagans already get so much flack outside of Tumblr for their beliefs. Like, I was so excited at first like “wow! People who believe like me and stuff!” but no. It wasn’t that way. It was “Oh my God, how could you be so stupid?” or “No, it’s this way.”

& That’s just not okay. Everyone has their own connection with their religion, patron, matron, whatever. Maybe Athena manifests this way to one person, and this way to another.

These are gods and goddesses we are talking about here. Do those people honestly think that they are there to serve them, and only them, in that one specific way? Hell no.

There are spells and rituals both of which can be personalized or changed or even written. So how can anyone say “There will only be power behind it if you do it my way!” They can’t.

I’m sorry you ever have to worry about it. Just know you won’t get any heat from this Wiccan over something.

(One time I got bitched at for saying blessed be, which is the traditional Wiccan thing. What.)

Oh my goddess, what have you done?
The goddess Lilith is known for abundance, fertility and fecundity. She is the giver of agriculture. Associated with the owl, darkness and deep wisdom.
Lilith has been given quite a bad rap if you ask me. She is associated with the lotus and so much darkness which often makes people, white witches, steer clear of her… Forgetting that every ying has a yang… every light casts a shadow!
She is said to “look upon our dark side and incorporate it into our whole ness so that our great beauty can blossom forth.” You cannot have your blindingly beautiful light without some darkness. Darkness is not equal with evil… it all depends on what you do with it.
I carry a great darkness. I use it to learn, persevere, appreciate. I use it to grow forward. Do not fear this dark and glorious goddess. Do not fear your darkness. Embrace it. With it in your kindest embrace you have full control over it.
Balance.

LILITH ISN’T ASSOCIATED WITH FERTILITY LILITH IS ASSOCIATED WITH ABORTIONS AND MISCARRIAGES
OH MY GOD READ A BOOK

^ What Solo said. Also, I’d like to point out that it’s not “ying and yang”. It’s “yin and yang”. If you’re going to reference anything to do with Taoism you should probably at least learn how to spell the concepts properly, as well as understand it.

Doesn’t the word ‘lullaby’ pretty much mean ‘Lilith, go away,’ in regards to Lilith coming in the night and actually killing babies unless they were sung to sleep? And wasn’t that people’s way of explaining infant deaths, too? I think that alone would tell anyone that she’s associated with miscarriages and the like - not fertility.

Okay so the person that first corrected that, could have been a bit nicer about it. I think I know what happened.
There are two Liliths. TWO.
One, from Jewish mythology, is the darker one. She’s the demon queen thing and Adam’s first wife that refused to submit so she was cast into hell. That, I think, is the one where Lilith-byes came from.
The second, the Assyrian Lilith, WAS a goddess of fertility and whatnot with owl feet. She was usually portrayed naked and in relief. She was the guardian of children.
So calm down, there, and know that there are two Liliths. The person was referring to the Assyrian goddess.
